Traffic across the Øresund
The traffic volume across the Øresund Bridge has overtaken the figures forecast in 2000 before its opening. This fully compensates for its initially somewhat slow start.

Since its opening in 2000, the growth rates of car traffic across the Øresund Bridge have averaged at about 10 percent per year. The sudden increase after opening – the so-called traffic jump – took place in the first three years after the opening, and was 61 percent.

In 2008, an average of 19,000 cars crossed the bridge each day.

Loan repayment is anticipated to be complete in 2034 - 34 years after opening.
