Together with German and Danish geodetic authorities Femern A/S is establishing a specially designed height system. The purpose is to achieve the highest level of precision prior to design and construction of a fixed link across Fehmarnbelt.
Initially, the authorities are inspecting and controlling existing fixed points. These fixed points are usually in the form of a bolt attached to a building.
The first inspections were made during spring 2009 and now the next step is initiated. Work will be carried out on Fehmarn between Johannisberg and Presen and on Lolland between Bredfjed and Saksfjed.
On November 18 – 20 technicians will check the fixed points and from December 3 – 11 they will also undertake a check measurement of the points. The measurement task will be carried out by a motorcade of four vehicles.
The team from the National Survey and Cadastre agency in Denmark will undertake the work in both countries – in Germany on behalf of the German authorities.
