Femern increasing its budget

Date: 08.06.2010
On 3 June, the Danish Parliament's Finance Committee agreed to increase the budget for planning the coast-to-coast section of the Fehmarnbelt Fixed Link. The budget is being increased by DKK 671 million to DKK 1,881 million, but there is no change to the estimated budget for the whole project.

The budget increase should be seen in the light of the desire to plan in more detail and with more documentation than originally planned. In addition, environmental investigations will be undertaken in a significantly larger geographic area than expected and they will be done over two years instead of the one year originally foreseen.

Further information about the budget increase is given in the Danish Parliament Document 140 of 3 June 2010.
