Safety has to be first class during the installation as well as the operation of the coming fixed link across the Fehmarnbelt. Therefore, Femern A/S has started working on developing a safety concept in cooperation with the relevant authorities in Germany and Denmark.
The first joint meeting between the two countries' authorities has just been held. A total of 38 participants from Germany and Denmark attended, amongst others representatives from the police and civil defence within the fields of fire suppression and rescue work as well as a number of officials from national and regional ministries and authorities.
- The purpose of the meeting was partly to introduce the Danish and German stakeholders to each other, partly to present the first ideas and drafts on how to go about the task, says Project Director in Femern A/S, Claus Dynesen.
The German-Danish group will meet regularly in the future, and the group is expected to address the first proposal for a security concept during the summer of 2010. Femern A/S will in its work use the experiences from the safety concept for the fixed link across the Oresund. « To overview
