The ramp and embankments will cross existing roads. Access to existing locations on land for the local population will be ensured throughout the period of construction.
The required size of the area is shown on the above principle plan. The sites shall allow for easy access of materials for the production, such as aggregates for concrete production, formwork, reinforcement, staff and equipment for the production. Material will come from both the landside via trucks and from the seaside. Most of the material is expected to come by ship.
Work will take place for around six years. The first activity is the establishing of the construction sites and access routes. In this period the activity is relatively low with few workers and little traffic to and from the site. When the construction sites are established and construction begins, activity will increase. The peak period will last 3-4 years. By the end of the construction the activity will go down, the construction sites will be dismantled and the area restored.
The sites will be arranged in a way that all local environmental requirements regarding noise, dust and vibration are met. Normally work will take place during daytime. It can be foreseen that works with some noise will sometimes be performed all around the clock. This will happen only occasionally. Dust will not be accepted and noise held within approved requirements. The anticipated requirements for the ramp area construction site are as follows:
Local traffic and use of the areas outside the construction sites are not expected to be affected to any large extent.
