Project

Other requirements and wishes

The following conditions regarding construction sites apply to both tunnel and bridge. The figures below should only be regarded as a very general guideline.
  • The size of the vessels delivering the materials for the concrete production is estimated to be in the range of 100 – 150 m in length and ca. 7.000 – 10.000 tons in weight. The required water depth is 6 m.
  • Housing of personnel on site will be depending on the distance of the site to the nearest town/city. For the moment it is anticipated that a part of the personnel will be housed on site. Others might find suitable accommodation in the local area.
  • A specific location for a heliport on site is not anticipated. Given the dimensions and layout of the site it is expected that in case of emergency a helicopter will be able to land.
  • Specific requirements to the underground are normal foundation requirements.  Certain areas are heavily loaded (100 kN/m2) and settlements/deformations should be minimized in these areas.
  • Transport of material by truck to the construction site will occur. It is anticipated that the trucks comply with local and national requirements for roads.
  • If a rail track is located near the construction site it could be used for transport of materials (e.g. reinforcement steel) to the site. This could reduce the number of transports by trucks.
  • It is anticipated that a transformer station will be located on the construction site requiring a connection to the electricity net (10 – 20 kV).
  • Access to public water supply and waste disposal would probably be sufficient.
