Anticipated general requirements and wishes regarding production sites

The following conditions regarding production sites apply to both tunnel and bridge production sites. The figures below should only be regarded as a very general guideline.

The size and weight of the vessels delivering the materials for the concrete production is estimated to be in the range of 100 – 150 m long and ca. 7,000 – 10,000 ton. The required water depth is 6 m.

The estimated storage on site is 15,000 m2. The same size for storage of equipment on site is estimated. The estimated storage size for concrete aggregates is 5.000 m2, thus all in all approx. 35,000 m2.

Housing of personnel on site will depend on the distance from the site to the nearest town/city. For the moment it is anticipated that a part of the personnel will be housed on site.

A specific location for a heliport on site is not anticipated. Given the dimensions and layout of the site it is expected that in case of emergency a helicopter will be able to land.

Specific requirements to the underground are normal foundation requirements to soil without clay and silt. Certain areas are heavily loaded (100 kN/m2) and settlements/deforma-tions should be minimized in these areas.

Transport of material by trucks to the production site will occur. Access roads will be heavily used by trucks loaded to the maximum allowed capacity. If the roads cannot carry this loading they have to be strengthened. At this moment it is anticipated that the trucks comply with the local and national requirements for roads.

If a rail track is located near the production site it could be used for transport of materials (e.g. reinforcement steel) to the site. This could reduce the number of transports by trucks.

It is anticipated that a transformer station will be located on the production site requiring a connection to the electricity net (10 – 20 kV).

Access to public water supply and waste disposal would probably be sufficient.
