See where the bridge and tunnel come ashore

Details of how the Fehmarnbelt Fixed Link (to be built by Femern A/S) will affect the respective following five kilometres of the Lolland and Fehmarn coasts are now available to view online.

A dynamic map lets you view the alignment corridor, proposals for a bridge or tunnel alignment, environmental features, heritage monuments and much more besides.

Eastern alignment
The alignment corridor is located east of the Rødbyhavn and Puttgarden ferry ports, as this is where the human, environmental and heritage impacts will be least severe. Obviously the construction process will not be free from impacts altogether: sea and shore will be altered, local roads will need to be rerouted, and not least, the new motorway and railway will consume land which Femern A/S has to acquire and compensate land owners for.

The map provides various options: look up individual addresses within the corridor; view nature conservation zones, heritage monuments and much more besides.

Only the corridor has been finalised
Although Femern A/S has now defined the corridor within which the fixed link will be sited, the final decision as to where the alignment will be placed is still pending. The alignments shown on the dynamic map derive from the so-called conceptual designs which were published in November 2010. During the planning process and the following EIA consultation, adjustments can be made.
