Within the framework of the preparations for the construction of the Fehmarnbelt Fixed Link, Femern A/S has been conducting extensive environmental investigations since 2008. The aim of these studies was the compilation of a comprehensive database for the assessment of the environmental impact, which should be kept as low as possible. An environmental impact study, which constitutes a fixed component of the approval process in Denmark and Germany, is being developed on the basis of the investigations results.
